About this grade
Premium diesel is standard diesel with extra detergents and additives that aim to keep injectors clean and improve cold-weather performance. It costs more than regular diesel and is sold at fewer stations. Some engines may benefit, but most do not require it.
Diesel engines are more efficient over long distances but the fuel and servicing can cost more. Diesel prices also move on their own cycle rather than the weekly petrol one.
