How is the cheapest suburb worked out?
Each row averages current reports from at least two stations in that suburb for the selected fuel type, and shows when its newest report arrived. Suburbs with only one reporting station are left out.
Is the cheapest suburb always worth driving to?
Only if the saving covers the extra distance. A 5c/L saving on 60L is $3; if the cheaper suburb is more than 6–8km out of your way, the fuel you burn getting there eats the saving.
Why do some states fill more rows?
States with more reporting stations produce more suburbs that qualify. Choose a state to compare like-for-like suburbs in your own market.
Why is my suburb missing?
A suburb needs current reports from at least two stations for the chosen fuel type. Open the fuel map to check a single station's reported price and update time.
