FuelWatch, FuelCheck and FuelRadar are different services

FuelWatch is a Western Australian Government program. FuelCheck is a NSW Government service that also includes ACT station data. FuelRadar is an independent fuel-price publisher, not the WA or NSW Government. How WA FuelWatch works

Western Australian retailers covered by FuelWatch notify the next day's standard cash prices by 2pm. FuelWatch publishes those prices from 2:30pm. The notified price takes effect at 6am and is held for 24 hours. This makes a direct today-versus-tomorrow comparison possible before the next morning. Discounts, charges and special offers are separate from the standard cash price.

How NSW FuelCheck works

FuelCheck covers every NSW service station and includes ACT station data. Drivers can search by location, fuel type or brand and open directions. NSW operators report the standard price as it changes. They must also report when a fuel normally sold at the station becomes unavailable. A reported availability state can still change after publication, so keep another station in mind on a remote or urgent trip.

What “Fuel Watch Australia” usually means

FuelWatch is the official name of the WA program, not a national government service. People also use “fuel watch” as a generic search for Australian fuel-price websites. Outside WA, use the applicable state program or an independent national publisher. FuelRadar identifies the source and explains the relevant timing limit rather than presenting every state as if it used the WA rules.

How the other states report prices

Queensland and South Australia require retailers to report changes under their own schemes. In Victoria, stations must report each price change within 30 minutes. Tasmania uses FuelCheck Tasmania and the Northern Territory uses MyFuel NT.
