Calculate a comparable fuel cost per kilometre

  1. Use cents per litre

    Enter the pump price in the unit shown. A dollars-per-litre value entered as cents will make the result 100 times too small.

  2. Use L/100km consistently

    The calculation converts your selected economy unit before multiplying fuel used by the entered pump price.

  3. Compare the same distance

    Cost per kilometre is useful because it puts vehicles and fuel grades on one distance basis.

  4. Keep ownership costs separate

    This result covers fuel only. Registration, insurance, servicing, tyres, depreciation and finance are not included.
