FuelRadar has been helping Australian drivers find cheaper fuel since 2020. The free FuelRadar app and fuelradar.com.au list reported fuel prices at more than 8,100 service stations in every state and territory, each with the time FuelRadar last updated it. Its daily city price averages run from January 2025, and it publishes national, state and capital city averages, price-cycle charts and a fuel price forecast for each capital. Prices come from state and territory price reporting schemes, retailer reports and station reports.

Diesel against petrol: the national gap

Diesel's daily national average was 39.8 c/L above U91's on 23 Oct, up from 39.4 c/L on 26 July. The gap ranged from 36.9 to 48.8 c/L over the period.

Where do the prices come from?

State and territory price reporting schemes, retailer reports and station reports. The methodology page lists each source and when it updates.

How is the national average worked out?

Each station's current report for the fuel type, after price and freshness checks. A week-ago figure uses the same rule at the same hour a week earlier.

Can I put live prices on our website?

Yes. The website widgets are free with no account. Keep the FuelRadar link line under the widget.
