Quick saving check

50 L × 10 c/L = $5saved at the pump before the detour, your time or a discount is counted.

Fuel saving tips

Before you rely on the result

A calculator is only as good as the station price and distance you put into it.

  1. Check before you fill

Check the map before every fill. A cheaper station only helps when its update time is recent and the detour is still on your route.

  2. Time the cycle

Use the price cycle when you can choose the day. If prices are near a peak, buy only what you need and compare again as the cycle softens.

  3. Stack discounts carefully

A docket, app lock or member price is only a saving after it beats the cheapest reported station nearby. Compare first, discount second.

  4. Do the route maths

Use the trip and detour calculators when the cheaper station is off-route. Small cents-per-litre gaps disappear quickly after extra kilometres.

Calculator FAQ

Using fuel calculators with reported prices

Use the reported station price for the exact fuel grade you plan to buy, then check the station update time. A stale cheap row can make a trip or detour look better than it is.
