TGP uses the same dates and carries the last published value for at most six subsequent calendar days. Retail prices can already include carried station prices. Means and spreads are rounded separately. The gross spread is not profit or a causal explanation. Retail carry limit: 30 days. Unmatched dates are excluded; common days are not a station or sales coverage percentage.

Fuel-specific counts must not be added to obtain a distinct station total. Distinct stations with eligible input prices, before the daily publication minimum. Calendar days describe the window, not new observations. A dash means the saved edition does not supply that count.

About this edition

How we worked out these figures · What this edition can establish

How we worked out these figures

  1. How we average

The week runs Monday to Sunday. Each day, every service station in Hobart counts once at its latest price as of the end of that day, and the week's average is taken over every station-day, so a station that reported all week counts more than one that reported for a day.

  2. Suburbs

A suburb is the ABS locality a station sits in. Each counted station must have a price on at least 4 of the seven days. At least 2 such stations are needed to rank a suburb.

  3. Wholesale

The terminal gate price is the Australian Institute of Petroleum's weekday price at the Hobart terminal, averaged over the week. Brent crude is from the US Energy Information Administration and the exchange rate from the Federal Reserve, both via FRED.

  4. Coverage

The peak daily count for a published fuel in Hobart was 59. This is not a distinct weekly station total.

  5. About these prices

These are averages over the week, not today’s prices. Check the station price and its update time before you fill.

What this edition can establish

  1. Not recorded
